New Beginnings...And Reflection

The start of a New Year is always a time of new beginnings, hope, and reflection. I have found all three of those to be equally important. As we enter into this new year of 2018 I will be serving as the President of the Cape Cod & Islands Association of Realtors. As I reflect on 2017 there are many things that stand out for me both personally and professionally.

Professionally it was a year filled with successfully helping clients achieve their goals of buying or selling real estate and making new friends along the way. It was also a year of serving as President-Elect for our Association and meeting new challenges. The biggest challenge I faced in that regard was traveling. I am not a good traveler and to be honest, I faced it with much trepidation. To attend conferences and leadership training I made two trips to Chicago and a trip to D.C. That was definitely outside my comfort zone.

I am a person who likes to have control over details, know the obstacles, and be comfortable in finding a way around them. They're qualities that make me a good Realtor. They don't necessarily make me a good traveler and I am definitely not in my wheelhouse when I travel. But I did it. Successfully.

Like most people I have faced many personal challenges in my life and most occur without warning or preparation. Yet somehow we manage to get through challenges by putting one foot in front of the other, making decisions, and having hope.

I've met my challenges this year and I have grown through them. As we enter the New Year I look forward to serving as President of our Association and to continue to meet challenges and grow. I also look forward to working with people to help achieve their real estate goals. It is always satisfying to me to know I have made a difference and provided a service that is not only professional, but also reassuring and personalized.

My wish for you is a new year filled with peace, growth, and successfully meeting new challenges.
